The 84㎡ room comes with a simple kitchen and dining area, an east‑facing balcony, IH, microwave, toaster, and drawer utensils, so we could eat what we bought in the room. Wi‑Fi measured down to 300 Mbps, a desk, and we could set the AC temperature ourselves, so we worked from the room. There’s a rooftop terrace. The broom and dustpan in the room were handy. The kitchen tap was said to be drinkable, and we drank from it for the whole 5‑night stay without any problem. Shops within walking distance are limited, but Uber Eats arrives quickly. The owner responds quickly; after booking, I mentioned the road‑side noise from the reviews, and they showed me both the back and front sides and let me choose. On the last morning, when Wi‑Fi stopped working, it was restored in about 10 minutes (down to 290 Mbps after). Even on a night with nearby noise, the owner noticed it, called the police, and moved us to a quieter room. On the check‑in day, the washbasin tap produced reddish‑cloudy water (which stopped later). The bathroom window lacks a screen, so it can only be opened a little; the shower, toilet, and washbasin share a single room without a divider, so a glass partition in the shower area would have helped. Closing the curtain doesn’t darken the room fully. The balcony is level with the neighboring room. I thought there were few places to hang hangers, so I hung laundry on the roof’s pillar; however, after posting, the owner told me there’s a drying rack on the other side of the balcony and that the room with the washing machine can be used. I didn’t see it myself, but if needed I’d ask for directions. Around 10 pm there were construction‑like sounds on about three nights of the five, each lasting only a few minutes. The nearby tracks make the train passing sound loud; I was surprised on the first day but got used to it. Also, on the night of Saturday 8 August, a birthday party in a house across the tracks had blasting music from about 6 pm to 1 am—just that one night of the five. I barely slept and had to head to Colombo the next day, so I was tired, but there was no way to stay elsewhere outside the property, and the owner was the fastest to respond that night as well. It’s not the hotel’s fault, so I rate it perfect.
