Getting to Sendai Station by taxi was only about a meter away, so moving around was easy, and the hotel staff all had a good vibe; the building was old, the bathtub drain took time, and when I soaked I could see the black grime inside the washbasin—probably removable with a melamine sponge.

When it rained, the umbrella rental was handy for my companion even though I didn’t use it, and breakfast was generous; the station near the city hall and prefectural office made the morning subway rush intense, but the locals lined up calmly, and the hotel’s hot water came on instantly with pre‑set temperature and an auto‑stop feature when the tub filled, which was very convenient. The convenience store directions were given, but it would have helped to include central spots like Tenzenji‑dori and Kokubun‑cho.
