Hylands Hotel Room with Shared Bathroom & Free Parking

“Serves its purpose. No frills but near Nottingham”

The single room was good for a quick sleep after work, but I wouldn't stay more than one night there because I'm not a fan of shared bathrooms.

“Watch this space - neglected old hotel being brought back to life”

The hotel had been left in a very dilapidated state by previous owners, and the new owners are working hard to breathe life back into the lovely old hotel. It is still in very poor shape, but it is safe, clean and welcoming, and I really wish them good luck in making this place great again. I will keep supporting them and look forward to seeing the improvements— the gardens already look SO much better!

I arrived late, but the staff were very accommodating. The shower was cold, so I had to use another room.

“It was not too bad for the money spent”

The kettle with coffee sachets was a massive bonus, and there was a sink which was nice, especially since there was no private bathroom. Hand soap was a nice touch. Overall, it was comfortable, with enough space for everything. The location was good, the staff were nice, and it was not bad value for money. The TV didn’t work and they couldn’t fix it (busy Sunday night). The room seemed clean enough as far as I could tell, but there were still traces of rubbish in the bin and cobwebs behind/under the table, which was somewhat noticeable. (As for the bin: it looked like they emptied something from the bin liner instead of changing it.) Internet didn’t work (by then I didn’t have the energy to ask for help, especially after I asked about the TV—I was just too tired). It was the network itself that didn’t come up at all.

The place was clean, tidy, and peaceful, and Shria was friendly. Wifi didn’t work, and it was a shared bathroom, but neither bothered me. 9/10.
