The pool and beach area were lovely, and the staff were helpful. There was a lot of construction work because of earthquake damage, and before I managed to change rooms, the noise from my room was ridiculous—so loud they shouldn’t list it for guests.

The hotel sits right by the beach and offers great value for the price. It’s a little outside the city centre and not within walking distance, but taxis are quick to get, so that’s not a problem.

The building looked beautiful, but the renovation work caused some confusion, though they had warned us. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, served by the sea, and the staff were very friendly. We also dined there; they offer many culinary options and everything we tried was excellent. The room was spacious and received two bottles of water daily. The beach was small but nice; unfortunately the sides were dirty, but that wasn't the hotel's fault.
