“If signage was clearer, more information supplied and accurate location displayed on ‘advert’ a more informed decision c”
I found myself in the middle of nowhere on the other side of Mabalingwe, which was nice for seeing the other side of the mountain range, and it was very quiet. I always love going to Mabalingwe game reserve and spending time searching for animals, the game drives, relaxing next to the pool and the dinners at the restaurant. Reading the reviews, I had an SUV and thought it would be fine, but part of the road really does need a 4x4, especially if it rains. I ended up planning a day out or away from the accommodation in the bush because of the travel time, and had to get up earlier to catch the game drives and drive in the dark on unknown roads after dinner at the restaurant. The pool water gave me a strange rash every time I climbed out. There was no TV on rainy days, no aircon on hot hot days, and only one fan that had to be carried from area to area. The accommodation’s location was very cloak and dagger/hush‑hush, which felt strange and suspicious. I still don’t understand why the honest location can’t be disclosed before booking. It was very hard to find the location even with a pin drop because it doesn’t take you to the actual cottage and it’s only sent when you are at the entrance gate…? I felt a bit like I was in someone else’s space even though no one else was in sight, but I was watched. I thought it needed a shower door.
