Free parking was nice, but the bed didn’t change sheets or make the bed, and they didn’t replace towels daily. The sockets and switches were positioned dangerously high, and there were many flies in the room; we felt dirty after sleeping on that bed. Furniture like nightstands and TV cabinets had dust.

The room is small, but it’s perfectly adequate for a single night. The mattress is excellent, everything is spotless and quiet. However, the advertised fitness centre is disappointing: the treadmill can’t be used, the weights for the bench press are missing, and other machines are only partially functional—like the rowing machine whose cable needs readjustment or replacement. It’s especially frustrating that when I pointed out these issues at reception, I was told to contact the adjacent Best Western Hotel because that’s where the fitness centre actually belongs. The Bastion Hotel markets a gym with photos, yet it refuses to address the problem or ask me to complain to a non‑partner hotel. That attitude is unacceptable.
