The three‑Bedroom Boat opens onto a private terrace that offers river views. Inside, the space includes a well‑fitted kitchen with stovetop, refrigerator, dishwasher and full kitchenware, as well as a private bathroom equipped with a walk‑in shower. Sleeping arrangements comprise two bunk beds and a crib, accommodating up to eight guests.
“Lovely comfortable stay in beautiful Ghent on Junoboat”
The boat was lovely, well equipped, and spacious with a large dining table and nice décor; the woman running the bar on the top deck greeted us warmly; the beds were very comfortable and the four full‑size bunks were suitable for adults; we thought the bar above might be noisy, but it wasn’t—it closes at 10 pm and opens only a few days a week; it’s about a half‑hour walk from the centre but plenty of buses and trams are nearby; the bedbug reviews were misleading, as the place had been treated and we saw no bugs.
“Fantastisch verblijf gehad. Niks geloven van de review”
I have to admit we were a bit scared because of the bedbug review. However, when we contacted the host she was very honest about it. She took all the necessary steps. We also received proof when we asked for it. It’s a shame that a negative review keeps haunting her. We had a fantastic stay and had nothing wrong. The photos are even better than reality. Good beds were available. She was also easily reachable.

HORRIBLE. IT'S A SCAM, THEY DON'T RETURN YOUR DEPOSIT. NEVER STAY HERE
We travelled with our American relatives as two families (four kids aged 10 to 16) on a city tour of Europe, choosing Ghent because it’s one of my favorite cities and seemed calmer than Paris, hoping the boat would give us space and peace. We relied solely on public transport and were shocked to read about bed‑bugs when the deposit was being transferred, so I contacted the landlady. She replied immediately and even sent me the invoice from the pest‑control company after I asked. With a weird feeling we decided to go ahead – thank goodness, because the boat turned out exactly as we’d hoped: it was wonderful to be on a boat, very spacious for eight of us, cosy, with enough private corners, and perfectly located (no car needed, supermarkets nearby, the city centre about a 20‑minute walk, the train station also about 20 minutes on foot). What mattered most was the people: the landlady online and Anouchka on site were both friendly, always reachable and helpful. I also appreciated that there were plenty of spices, dishwasher tablets and toilet paper on hand – things you usually have to buy in bulk – which is rare. The boat has no air‑conditioning, but there are enough fans and good ventilation, so it was fine despite the heat. Half of the boat houses a small bar with a separate entrance, which didn’t disturb us; its limited hours (roughly afternoon to 10 pm) were actually a plus for an evening aperitif and cheese plate. We had a fantastic time, felt truly refreshed afterwards, and would gladly return. Thanks again!
“Boat full of bedbugs.”
We initially liked the boat until we discovered that the dead insects everywhere were bedbugs, and that the bites we started getting were not from mosquitoes. Severe bedbug infestation in the accommodation, which put the health of all seven guests at risk. We ended up with hundreds of bites in total. The only action taken by the owner was changing one set of bed linen, which is completely inadequate for a bedbug infestation. No proper treatment or professional extermination was arranged, and we were left without a real solution. We were only offered, late at night and with children present, to leave the accommodation without a cancellation fee, without any alternative solution or proper assistance. The owner is refusing financial compensation. This property should not be rented at all. Do not stay here.
