Gothenburg Hotel

The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well; the room was clean. The location was good, across the road from a bus stop with regular buses into Edinburgh and around Fife, and close to the train station. There was no wardrobe or anywhere to hang clothes in the room. It was a twin room but only 1 chair – it wouldn't be possible to fit a second chair in the room. The building is only staffed whilst the restaurant is open – not a major problem but useful to be aware of this.

Nice hotel in a century old building, it has a pub on the ground level and an incredible Italian restaurant on the first floor Clean, confortable rooms but the staff doesn't stay in the hotel past 11pm but they provide a key so you can get back in if you go out Close to bus points and train station to Edinburgh city center

“Just for an overnight not too bad, but needs badly a facelift.”

Not much. The only good thing is an Italian restaurant at the first floor, which was quite nice, but it’s not related to the hotel. It’s a very old hotel, old fashioned rooms, the door closing pump-levers are so hard you have to fight to open the door. Very small bathrooms. Promised breakfast, but had none

“Worst hotel of my life”

So much mold. I got sick and had to go to urgent care from an allergic reaction to the immense amount of visible black mold. The TV also doesn’t work at all.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a pleasant stay at Gothenburg Hotel. The room was comfortable, and the hotel was a convenient option for our trip to Edinburgh. It was suitable for a short stay, especially for travellers looking for budget-friendly accommodation. Overall, we had a good experience and would recommend it for a short visit
