When we pulled in, the whole town had no power, so we couldn’t stay. The staff were outside trying to help people find other accommodations. It seemed like it could have been great, but the power outage made it impossible.

The location was good. The noise, the murky pool, the air‑conditioning that sounded like an airplane engine, the doors slamming all night, and the size of the beds were all problematic.

The rooms were spacious, there was plenty of free parking, and the balcony offered a lakeside view. The hotel’s convenient location had several restaurants, a pharmacy, and a gas station nearby. It was a five‑minute drive from Dune Park train station, which let us travel to Chicago downtown by train; the train ride takes over an hour. Breakfast options were limited but acceptable. The lack of an elevator made it inconvenient to carry heavy luggage to the upper floor.

The place was very beautiful. Unfortunately there was a tornado and the entire area had no power.
