The price for accommodation was reasonable. The operation was pleasant. Parking was right next to the pension. The breakfast buffet was thin considering the inter-season (early September). The dining room was cold – no heating. The room was cold, and with the small number of guests the whole building wasn’t heated! We had to use a direct heating unit and turn it off at night. The restaurant was closed. The room was dark, with a small window. Photos on the website promised more luxury.

Traveling outside of season means you have to expect some differences. Despite fewer guests and a closed kitchen, we still enjoyed a warm dinner and were lucky to learn a lot about the fascinating history of the house from the owner during our conversation.

“Gutes 2 Sterne Hotel.”

Good location. (Bus stop directly in front of the house, train station not far, central in town, close to Finstergrün Castle. Clean, nice staff.)

“Alles in allem für eine Übernachtung ausreichend”

We could bring our dog, easy check‑in and check‑out. The breakfast was very simple and every morning there was a problem getting coffee because it was a normal household machine, not something for gastronomy.
