The accommodation is tidy. The beds are hard, and the staff is only partially friendly. Out of nine guesthouses I visited in Tanzania, the breakfast buffet was excellent in all except Katambuga, where the selection was small and not especially well presented. The lunch was also not particularly good. The price was $6.56.

I'm still grinning from ear to ear after my stay here. The room was seriously the most comfortable I've ever slept in - I felt like I was in a luxury hotel, not a budget place. The staff were friendly and helpful, always willing to lend a hand. It was honestly just a perfect experience from start to finish.

We opted for a small lunch snack but had to attend a buffet instead. It cost $56 and wasn’t very good, with inattentive service. In another lodge we ate superbly, and the price for two people for four days of lunch and dinner was $42. The differences were striking. The beds were good quality but very hard.
