The accommodation was comfortable and made me feel at ease. The only downside was breakfast: I don’t eat bread or sweets, and there were no other options.

“very recommendable”

I stayed at this spot right next to the Nibutani Museum of Shigeru Kayano, and it turns out Shigeru’s grandson runs the place – a genuinely friendly guy. Checking in was a breeze, the beds were very comfortable and the windows let in fresh air. There’s a good selection of books on Ainu culture, mostly in Japanese but the photo catalogs are beautiful, and all the Nibutani Ainu museums are within walking distance. I met some interesting people too. Nothing went wrong; everything was fine.

The rooms are spacious, the beds are large, and the bedding is comfortable. The welcome was friendly, the atmosphere convivial, and it’s one of the best guesthouses I’ve visited during my three months of travel.

Nice location. We were the only guests, so we had plenty of space for ourselves.

I could chat with people I didn’t know. Because I’m traveling by motorcycle, I wish the parking area had a paved surface.
