We stayed comfortably at White Gate. My mom has mobility problems, so the room we received was fully wheelchair‑accessible. It was clean, and we got an extra cot when we asked. The staff were polite and helpful. Check‑in starts at 2 p.m., but we managed to get in earlier after requesting it. They offer a vegetarian restaurant and a multi‑cuisine option; the veg food was tasty. The hotel sits close to the temple, with a supermarket and pharmacy nearby. All in all, I was very satisfied and would recommend it to others. It would be better if check‑in were more flexible.

The location is unique for Vaikom, but the hotel is poorly maintained. The restaurant is just average, and the cleanliness is lacking. Staff at the restaurant were slow to respond.

The breakfast was just ordinary. The front desk took a photo of my son (an US citizen) without asking.
