After we were in bed at 24.00 and woke up at 2.00 by bedbugs, we were not given a new room. Both rooms had bedbugs, even my son’s. We ended up traveling back home that night because no room was available for the night. I can send a photo. We haven’t received our money back yet.

The hotel is perfectly fine for those who want to party in Cologne and need a cheap place to sleep with breakfast included. It has everything you need, even though it’s a bit dated. It was clean for us. Everything feels a bit worn because it’s been used for a very long time. The young student who greeted us was extremely friendly. The older gentleman at breakfast is undoubtedly friendly at heart and loves his job. The exterior could use more polish. I definitely made three crosses so I wouldn’t run into him at night. Those who need very little won’t have to give up much.

The breakfast buffet was more than enough, with something for everyone. The staff were helpful and friendly, and there was a 24‑hour concierge. The small hotel sits across from IL Tartuffo, an excellent Italian restaurant. The building dates back to 1634 and is being renovated step by step. I always weigh price against value. Everything was present and the bed was excellent. It isn’t a 5‑star hotel, but the room size can be checked beforehand.

When we arrived, we were unfortunately not told that the TV was broken. After we asked if someone could check it, we were only told that a technician would come. The next day it was said that it was broken and they couldn’t fix it. We had initially read a small notice at the desk, but it was hardly noticeable. The communication was not promising. What also bothered us was the uncleaned shower and the strong drain smell in the bathroom.

The staff were friendly. I had bedbugs in the bed and had to change hotels at 0.30 am, paying for the taxi myself.
