I landed at Relais Castello Bevilacqua hoping for a charming stay, but the experience fell flat. The castle’s historic vibe was lost in a maze of confusing corridors, and staff had to keep redirecting us to the right rooms, which felt more forced than helpful. The castle room itself was overcrowded with excessive, dusty décor and dirty curtains, giving a sense of faded glory replaced by basic unhygienic conditions. The same lack of cleanliness spread through the rest of the property. Dining in the hunting room was unappetizing, and the space lacked any cozy atmosphere. Afterward, I tried to unwind at the bar, only to find it unmanned and cold. The worst part was the breakfast area, cluttered with a pile of junk that left barely any room for guests to move around the buffet calmly. The hotel seemed more like a hoarder’s den than a hotel. When I voiced my concerns at reception, they listened and offered a spontaneous discount, which was nice but didn’t fix the underlying issues. The castle has potential, but a serious clean‑up is urgently needed to restore its flow and grandeur.
