Southern Cross Lodge Methven

“Suitable for our shortstop.”

Breakfast was really good and the bed was comfy, and the staff were friendly, but we ended up next to a kitchen extractor shaft—though it was turned off later that evening—and the room is definitely dated but clean.

“Overall the experience was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful.”

We had a decent breakfast, but when we had to cut our stay short for family reasons, the hotel promised a refund that never arrived.

The location was great for a romantic weekend at the hot pools, but music from the games room downstairs kept blasting into our room; my husband had to knock on the door around 3am to ask them to lower it so we could sleep.

“Great Lodge and the Manager was helpful, breakfast included was nice and simple.”

The place was nice and offered good value for the price, with no complaints.

“Perfect for skiing, and solo travellers”

Breakfast was simple—just cold items and toast, but it was enough; the staff were friendly and helped store our skis, boots, and bags; the lodge is a short walk to town and the hot pools, and the ski bus drops you off outside; they serve a hot dinner six nights a week, though I didn’t try it.
