The place is just a short walk from the city centre and the owners were incredibly friendly – they even gave us a lift in their car to a far‑away shop and the train station when we were leaving. The only downside was a strong sewer smell in the bathroom, which was only because we kept the bathroom door shut. Otherwise, a solid stay.

Bonbon guesthouse sits right near Panagyurishte’s centre, and the rooms were clean, quiet and surprisingly roomy. Parking was a breeze on the street in front, and the hostess gave us great tips on local sights and eateries. Everything we wanted – the town centre, the Apriltzi complex, museums and restaurants – was within walking distance. The only thing missing were a few hooks in the bathroom for clothes and towels.
