“Friendly, comfy, charming, squirreled away”
Conveniently located near all the key spots without being buried in noise or chaos, clean, comfortable, quiet (mainly), and the host was good. There were brief periods (20 minutes) of construction noise—offloading building materials—around 5 am some nights, which is common in Hanoi; the host kindly supplied earplugs. No big deal overall. A guy doing a terrible job of shagging upstairs was a momentary inconvenience one could expect in any place without heavy soundproofing.
