It’s a beautiful spot; the restaurant food was well cooked and tasty, both pools were clean and refreshing, but the cabins are very basic for the price—just three beds, one bathroom, a small fridge, and breakfast is only toast or boxed cereal.

I love the Crab Claw; this was my second visit and we stayed again, though the cabins are a bit pricey for what they offer, but we were there mainly for beachfront drinks, dining, and relaxation.

The setting was lovely, and the restaurant served good food with a friendly chef who was willing to accommodate requests; the salmon was superb. However, sandflies made it hard to sit outside without repellant, and there wasn’t much else to do nearby. The room itself was very basic.

The remote, tidal location surrounded by bush and wildlife is fantastic, and the two swimming pools are always beautiful and cool, making it great to sit out and read a book. Fishing and animal life are also excellent, and the upstairs front rooms offer a pleasure at sunrise and sunset. The staff were very willing to accommodate any special requests. We have been visiting every year for a long time, so the sudden doubling of room prices was a shock, though we understand the remote location, the difficulty of retaining good staff, and rising fuel costs.
