The location beside the lake is outstanding, providing magnificent views. Some furnishings and décor could use a refresh, but this was a minor issue since the owners were welcoming and eager to share information about the area.

Only a 5‑minute drive from the Minffordd car part at Cadair Idris, this place serves a great breakfast to kickstart your day and a comfy bed when you’re ready to rest. The setting was idyllic, exactly what we sought: an independently run hotel rich in history and character—perfect after a mountain hike.

Breakfast was very good, offering plenty of variety and choices. The location is lovely and scenic, with secure parking. I’ve stayed many times and always received a warm welcome and fantastic service throughout.

The room was beautiful, situated in a quiet spot with stunning views, and thoughtfully and lovingly decorated. Breakfast was great, and the hosts were enormously friendly—Brian and Jane made us feel very welcome and gave us plenty of useful tips on where to go. There was nothing to dislike.
