The Romantik Hotel Achterdiek offers an indoor pool, spa, wellness area, fitness room and games room, plus a la‑carta European restaurant with fine wines and a sunny terrace for breakfast. Free Wi‑Fi. Located quietly on Juist, it lies five minutes’ walk from the expansive sandy beach and Strand Promenade, and near Adventure Salt‑Water Park, harbour, and Coast Museum.

The breakfast was excellent, especially the outstanding porridge station; the setting was calm, the décor tasteful, and the staff always attentive and very friendly. The mattress in the room was sagging, which I didn’t expect in a five‑star hotel.
