“Ein interessantes Experiment, aber ich brauch den Wohlfühlfaktor. Nichts für mich.”
The place is fairly convenient for traffic, and there was a bottle of water in the fridge. The view from the 7th floor is good, but it also shows you’re not in the best spot. I tried this concept for the first time and realized it’s not for me – it feels like a ghost house, no people around, all cold and impersonal, with a lot of black paint. It’s expensive: a tiny double room for single use with breakfast costs 185 €, and storage is almost non‑existent. The room is full of displays and lights (e.g. fire alarms) that can’t be turned off and keep blinking all night. The hotel advertises noise protection, yet at night other guests’ doors slam loudly into the lock, waking you up from restless sleep. The TV is very small, and many small but necessary items are missing (e.g. bottle opener, shoehorn, second glass). You’re completely dependent on your phone’s functionality. The two guys in charge of breakfast were clearly overwhelmed, even though there wasn’t much going on. The breakfast itself was quite poor, lacking care, and extra coffee costs extra. All the food was cheap, and there were no nice personal touches. Some might like it, the concept seems to work for them, but not for me. I’m probably too old for it.
