“Fantastic Ha Long Bay cruising experience!”

We enjoyed an amazing three‑day, two‑night cruise with Mon Cheri! Our executive suite had a private balcony and was large and luxurious. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t have been more helpful. The food was delicious, and they catered so well for all our dietary requirements. There was a great range of activities, and Jasmine, our knowledgeable guide and tai‑chi instructor, was excellent! Harry, our waiter, was amazing and looked after us so well throughout the cruise. Highly recommended! Nothing to dislike, but be aware that this will be a digital detox – wifi is extremely limited and often unavailable. If you have a local eSIM, you’ll have more connectivity but with periods of no service.

The place is located in nature among rice fields. Rooms are large and clean. There’s a big pool in the hotel center and a private balcony on the room. The food was tasty. Free bikes to ride around the area. Simply wonderful. If only there were taxis to help with getting from the rooms to the lobby and pool.

“Book it if you want to enjoy the views and sunset and sunrise, eat good food and relaxed.”

The staff was extremely nice, especially at lunch and dinner time. Ben, who looked after us, was really amazing, and the food was really good. The view and sunset from the boat were breathtaking. We did a one‑night stay and it was enough. The transfer and organisation were super! The room should have been a bit cleaner, especially the bathroom. The noise of the AC was horrible, and if you turn it off it gets really, really warm in the room. We were room 304, so close to the staircase and you could hear noises from the corridor etc. The activities were OK; you can kayak and swim but you have to keep the lifejacket on, so it kills the swimming experience. Also don’t expect crystal‑clear water because it’s not; it’s more brown/green but nothing to do with the organisation, of course!

The food was very good. Ben, our server, went above and beyond to ensure everything was in order. Not the claimed five‑star experience. Also the experience is less than one full day with very little actual cruising. The transfer from and to Hanoi were likely some of the worst transfer experiences ever. When underway the vibration and noise in our room were not great.

We really enjoyed the cruise. It was our first cruise and we did the two‑night, three‑day trip. Everything was structured to a schedule that they provide to you on arrival. We particularly want to mention Ann, who made our stay enjoyable; she helped to ensure we were well looked after, and our dietary requirements were met and meals were enjoyed (vegetarian and my partner has a nut allergy). The activities were great (we enjoyed the cave and kayaking). Our only critiques were that, while the food was delicious, we didn’t need five courses at lunch and dinner (however I suppose it goes with the luxury feel) and while we enjoyed the activities, they did mean quite a bit of time off the cruise boat itself and less time to relax (particularly Cat Ba Island on day two). Overall a great experience in the picturesque Ha Long Bay!
