“A safe place”

I had a wonderful time at Kayan Guest House, which offered everything needed for a budget‑friendly stay. Staying on Elephantine Island was pleasant, and I enjoyed returning to the quiet village after a day outdoors. The highlight was the included breakfast, which gave me plenty of energy for the day ahead. Don’t forget to tip the lady who prepares the breakfast. Unfortunately, I fell victim to a scam on the island, paying 2000 EGP for a trip to Abu Simbel, unaware that the guesthouse offered the same tour for half the price. Scams and people taking advantage of you happen in Aswan, just like in Luxor. However, I still managed to visit all the museums and sites I had planned. This hostel felt like a safe haven for me. I had some trouble with the locks, and a few mosquitoes got in at night, but that’s pretty normal along the Nile. I was happy with my stay.
