The bed was uncomfortable, the place was noisy and damp, and there was no one to greet you; there was no luggage drop‑off in the room and I had to ask for the Wi‑Fi code, plus there was only a single chair for two people and the equipment was very basic.

The apartment sits in a safe area, roughly a 15‑minute walk to the lake and about 20 minutes from the train station, and the self‑check‑in/out was convenient. However, it’s uphill, so lugging luggage up was tough unless you have a car, and we heard dogs and church bells around 7.30‑8 am, which might bother light sleepers.

I liked that the property is only five minutes from Stresa, making it easy to visit the three islands. Overall I had a good experience, but the night was noisy and disruptive: people opening the entrance gate, cats meowing most of the night, and dogs barking intermittently. It’s a pity that the sound insulation could be better; otherwise the stay was enjoyable, and with a bit more soundproofing or better control of the outdoor areas it would be perfect.
