The breakfast cost 15,-€, which is pricey compared to other hotels. There was no buffet, only a pretzel that had been in the oven too long, and unfortunately no butter. The staff spoke little to no German. I paid for a double room but ended up sleeping in a single. Despite repeated inquiries and promises that a bill would be issued, I still haven’t received anything. The owner ignores emails and phone calls.

The hotel is closed and the tenant can no longer be reached. Booking does not respond and offers no assistance.

When we arrived at the hotel, it was already insolvent and we were not told. In Buttenwiesen there are no other hotels, which was very frustrating.

According to an employee, the property was insolvent, but this wasn’t disclosed beforehand; guests were simply flown in with no notice. Upon arrival, it was clear something was wrong because everything felt abandoned. Eventually someone from the hotel could be reached who announced the insolvency. I had already paid, so I was left without accommodation. Fortunately I was able to arrange a replacement room through Booking Support and received a refund.

The pizza was good and the place was busy, right inside the building. A notable memorial is located just behind the house. The breakfast was not offered.
