Apart from the wellness we can’t find any faults. The sheets in the wellness are missing and the pool could be a bit warmer. For relaxation maybe a spray shower.

“Gelungener Kurzurlaub”

The castle is very beautiful with winding corridors and a great view of Schwartenberg. We had a fantastic room with a three‑sided view. Breakfast was served in the large hall. The selection was good and sufficient. At the restaurant “Remise” you can eat well. It’s a shame the outdoor areas need a bit of upkeep and that the bar was closed due to lack of staff.

“Drei Sterne, keine vier! Im Dörnröschenschloss”

The room was great and the staff were very friendly, but it felt like a small nightmare in a Sleeping Beauty style that still needs to be awakened. Honestly, it’s a good ⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel and a bad ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel! We were placed in the Remise, a large and stylish room, though there were already visible wear and tear that could be fixed with minimal effort. We booked with a dog, which would have been fine for €15 per night if there had also been a bowl or something for the dog (other hotels in this category provide bowls, blankets, baskets or even food samples). The staff move around individually (no consistent line and sometimes very individual… okay). There’s no clear line here! The decoration in the castle and the Remise is also limited, it’s quite plain (a shame). The breakfast buffet could be improved, good selection but very blandly arranged. Yogurt should be served in smaller glasses (less is more). The tomatoes, cucumbers and fruit for the yogurt were placed in huge bowls and thus very unappealing… The “wellness area” is a bit awkward, the changing room is behind the pool and the steam sauna is broken. Everything is very small and here too there’s a lack of attention to detail for relaxing. The staff were very friendly. I would recommend the owners a hotel consultant!

“Schade”

The booked room was uninhabitable due to a stinking odor, so we were moved on site to a smaller room. Dinner at the hotel was ordered and after a long wait of an hour it wasn’t delivered, we asked, it was forgotten. Fish portions were very small. At check‑out, when paying, we were told to pay for the larger, more expensive room. After a 10‑minute discussion the hotel relented. I would not recommend the hotel based on these experiences. The blue‑tinged smell in the booked room, the long wait for dinner, the tiny fish portions, staff threatening that we were unwanted, and the question “the guest is king?” were all negative points.

“Kein schönes Erlebnis und Sicherheitslücken”

The old castle is very pretty, but in the middle of the night the phone rang and told us to move the car that was normally parked on the hotel parking lot. Totally confused and scared, we went out at 2 a.m., no one was there. We were tricked, however it went on how strangers could get into the hotel phone. Also the hotel was not locked at night, there was no night staff or lock system, so people could come and go freely.
