The staff were friendly, breakfast was fantastic, the location was quiet and calm, the beds were nice. The pillow in the bed was a bit lacking.

The welcome was friendly. After two weeks I still haven’t received the invoice I kept asking for, so I’ll have to involve tax authorities.

A small, charming hotel that hasn’t been renovated, yet the details show care. The beds were great, the all‑inclusive breakfast was good, and it’s a perfect spot to rest and enjoy the west coast beaches and the Peniche and Óbidos restaurants. Despite the comments left by previous guests, we didn’t find the access difficult.

The staff were very friendly, but communication was a bit hard if you don’t speak Portuguese. The room was extremely noisy – you could hear snoring from the next room, several doors were knocked on in the mornings, and the single tiny window made the room dark and hard to ventilate. The stale smell lingered even after long windows were opened, the window barely closed, the building was old, no night‑time opening or tilt function. The room looked like a basement; if the window opened at night, someone or a cat could slip in. There was no hand soap in the bathroom, mold on the ceiling and shower, a towel had a huge hole, a hair dryer would have been handy. The pool was dirty and unusable – we had come in the afternoon hoping to swim, but instead we drove 20 minutes to the beach. The hotel is remote.

The bed was comfortable, the room spacious, the bathroom towels were good. A very helpful staff member did everything possible to make our stay pleasant and offered us an upgrade from the room we had booked. It’s a shame such a beautiful place is semi‑abandoned; the access is poor and poorly signposted, and the photos are misleading.
