“Look at the photos. Pieve di Caminino is much more magical and delightful than they suggest.”
Emy welcomed us like an old friend, sharing stories of a fascinating journey through time, wine, art, and a friendly wolf hound. The moment we stepped into his home we never wanted to leave. The rooms and buildings were profound, cozy, with Roman foundations, medieval walls, 18th‑century family gossip, a museum, and a family home. We ate out and cooked at home, tasting the land’s meat, bread, cheese, torte, and wine. When we were hot we slipped into the pool shaded by the family’s olive orchards. We didn’t want to leave. Thanks, Emy. Alibenwolf xx We could have booked more nights, walked along the Roman road, explored the forest, visited more wineries, bought more prosciutto, learned more about Emy’s artistic lineage, helped pick olives in October, seen the wild wolves that visit the pool at night, figured out where to eat wild food, and done a painting retreat… in short, we needed more time!
