Yolanda’s friendliness and kindness made up for the hotel’s lack of solar panels to handle power outages; the balcony offered magnificent views with hummingbirds, a pair of toucans, and countless other birds, creating a truly tranquil setting. However, there were too many mosquitoes, which is normal in the cloud forest, and it would have helped to use a spray I bought at a shop or install nets.

The lady who runs the place is incredibly friendly and makes the stay feel welcoming; the rooms are basic but clean, and you’re literally surrounded by jungle. Breakfast was surprisingly tasty. The bathroom looks a bit dated, the water was icy cold, and it would have been handy to have a mosquito net in the room.

I think they serve the best breakfast in Colombia, with a forest view and even some friendly cats roaming around, and Yolanda and Tatiana kept the room spotless and were always attentive. Mornings offered bird songs and a great vista, the beds were super comfy, the space was roomy with a terrace, and the location couldn’t be better. On the downside, the water pressure was weak, there was no hot water, and we missed a basic iron and a drying rack for clothes.

The spot is perfect for getting to town on foot for meals, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and come with a balcony and a hammock. The owner was warm and helpful, and I always felt safe; breakfast was solid. Unfortunately, they were renovating the kitchen right where breakfast is served, so there was a bit of noise during that time.

The mountain view from both the bedroom and the rooftop breakfast area is stunning, and the whole place feels quiet and relaxing with birds singing around. Breakfast was fantastic, and the host was pleasant and ready to give tips whenever we asked. The only drawback is the bathroom, which is really tiny.
