When I arrived, the room was dirty – crumbs on the floor, a grimy sofa, and the bathroom seemed to have been sprayed with water once and left. The kitchen had dirty dishes, and even the outdoor furniture was so filthy I didn’t want to sit on it. After about half an hour I decided to look for another place because I just didn’t feel comfortable, and I ended up canceling. The family was “average” friendly, but after I had to pay for the first night even though I only stayed 30 minutes and explained my concerns, I received an unfriendly message the next day accusing me of lying and claiming the room was clean. It was rude.
