The room was lovely, breakfast and dinner were very good, and the staff were super helpful and friendly. It was very clean and tastefully decorated. It took a while to figure out the TV, but I got it working eventually. The shower head had a small issue that needs fixing. Otherwise everything was excellent.

The location was great and the staff were nice. The bathroom was cramped, had no hooks, and there was no place to put anything down. Parking was awkward; there was a plan, but you only notice it after you’ve parked.

We arrived, parked, and checked in to find no food available in the evening because the chef was absent. A couple then blocked the car park entrance. A woman got out of her car and shouted that we should move so she could park; she was rude and aggressive. The car was moved, and she kept yelling. She turned out to be the owner of the hotel and thought she could park wherever she wanted, even though someone was already there (no signs indicated reserved parking). Her husband started shouting and eventually said we could “have their money back and fuck off,” which we did and found rooms at The Swan, a superb place with friendly staff, nice rooms, and superb breakfast. We felt the owners of the White Lion did us a favor by kicking us out. The Swan was better overall, with helpful staff and a great experience.
