The room was spacious, breakfast was included, and it was low‑budget, which was good. The real love hotel was very old, the elevator seemed like it might stop at any moment, and the room had a cigarette smell. It was very difficult to stay there with family and especially with kids. This time it overlapped with the “Asia Sports Competition” in Aichi, so all the usual hotels were fully booked, and we had no choice but to use this one.

A sudden downpour left us stranded, and the place took us in; the love hotel was surprisingly modern, with plenty of amenities, ample space, subscription TV, and easy‑order meals. It felt nothing like the old‑school love hotels with rotating beds and cocktail lights, and being marketed as “for adults” meant I never would have booked it unknowingly. With only a third of a business hotel’s price, the facilities were hard to complain about. The Wi‑Fi was missing, and the station was a decent walk away.

“Fun fever dream in this love hotel”

Love hotels always give great value, offering tons of in‑room services and fun gadgets like a wide movie selection, a slot machine, and a large bathtub, and the breakfast had four choices and was pretty good; plus there’s a mall nearby with many shops and restaurants. The location was somewhat inconvenient without a car, sitting in a mall outside the village, and, as with all love hotels, there’s no natural light because the windows can’t be opened.
