The room offered to us on the second day was beautiful, overlooking the river, and I thanked the staff for arranging the move. I had contacted the hotel well before arrival to cancel because of a situation, but the request was denied and there was no flexibility. When we arrived, the room was not clean; the balcony was dirty and the table had spill marks that were not wiped. I expected the room to be ready and spotless from the start, which annoyed me. They offered another room that didn’t suit me, and the way they told me “don’t get upset” felt unprofessional, especially since the issue was the room’s cleanliness. Breakfast was very bad, with limited options and low quality, and there was no clear follow‑up with guests during the meal. It felt like you were lost and didn’t know who was responsible for your service or assistance; breakfast needed major improvements in quality, organization, and service. On the second day, they again offered a beautiful river‑view room, and I thanked them for the initiative.

The hotel’s location is fantastic and strategic, set in a flat area surrounded by mountains with a river that creates a wonderful atmosphere and stunning views. The road is clear and direct in Uzungol and is 30 minutes from Lake Uzungol. Nearby, there are a sauna and a whirlpool that you can try; a Turkish woman and a man ran them and were very friendly. We tried the sauna for 300 lira per person and enjoyed it despite its short duration. Reception and check‑in were very smooth; the man at the front desk spoke Arabic and helped us carry our luggage to the room. We stayed in room 306, which had a decent design and a balcony overlooking the river with excellent internet. The hotel restaurant, when booked through Booking, offers an extra breakfast, and it indeed does, with a beautiful outside view. Some room issues: the room and especially the balcony had a significant number of spiders; we asked for them to be removed and the staff complied, but I wished they had cleaned the floor more thoroughly. The next day we found new spiders on the large one that had been removed, and I had to kill them myself 😅. Bathroom drainage problems: the toilet’s slope did not lead to the drain, leaving water on the floor for two full days, which caused a bad odor. The shower drain was also likely blocked, leaving water for two days. Towels smelled like cigarettes and the bedspread did too. Restaurant notes: breakfast options were extremely limited to three cheeses, two types of olives, a cucumber, tomato, watermelon, mortadella, boiled eggs, fried potatoes, bread, tea, honey, tahini sweets, and canned jam. Quality was at most average. The foods were left uncovered, attracting insects because they were exposed. Boiled eggs, even though placed in a warming tray, were very cold. Outside of the free breakfast, we tried the kunafa at the restaurant, which was very stale and burnt, but the salep and kerek were tasty.

At first we found insects in the room, but after we mentioned it, they responded excellently and naturally, as insects are common in the countryside. The food was clean, their service was kind, and the hotel’s location is ideal for relaxation and peace.

The location is quiet once the campers leave for the day. The hotel is old, with equipment from another era. The Turkish‑style breakfast is decent but could be better in terms of setting, quantity, and quality.
