“Ékszer a hegyek között”
The view from the mountain is unbeatable, and the temperature between the peaks feels just right. The traditional buildings, the quiet, and the calm are all flawless. I loved the little shop, the sound of the stream, the chapel, and the tiny restaurant. Dora was friendly and helpful, especially with her son. It’s a perfect spot for a retreat, to recharge, and to experience a sacred moment surrounded by mountains.
The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the place was clean and cozy with a fantastic view.
The villa sits in the Rhodope fields with a stunning mountain view. The air is so crisp and clean that even in cold weather we didn’t feel like closing the windows. The villa was spotless; we left our muddy shoes at the door and immediately slipped on slippers. Mademoiselle Dora, a young‑spirited older woman, welcomed us and invited us for homemade cake—she’s a wonderful host! The rooms are well‑heated and cozy, and you can make coffee or tea. We felt right at home and can’t wait to return.
The vibe was exotic, but getting there was a hassle.
“wonderful apartment in a beautful location”
This hidden gem sits at the top of Bachkovo village, and the owner, who speaks perfect English, greeted me warmly even though I didn’t speak Bulgarian. The apartment is perched on 82 steps or a long slope, but you can take a winding path for an easier walk. The balcony offers a view of forested mountains, and the peace is only broken by birdsong and occasional thunder. A bus stops at the bottom, and the monastery is a 10‑minute walk along a riverside footpath.
