“Staying at Hostel Kiliwood was a vibrant Second Home Experience”
I was really lucky that my first stop in Tanzania was in Moshi, and specifically at the Hostel Kiliwood . Aside from the fact that the hostel’s architecture lets you always find a cozy spot all your own in every corner of the garden and the house, everything is aesthetically well-thought-out, every tiny detail and the cleanliness is top-notch! It always smells fresh and clean, and the housekeeping deserves an 11 out of 10. Breakfast is hearty, and the internet is smooth as can be. For a solo female traveler, you couldn’t ask for a better, truly safe space. The new Italian friend I made there can attest to that as well. Walima is a wonderful and warm host; she takes the time to offer advice on every aspect and respects your boundaries while making you feel comfortable and truly at home and she makes fantastic pancakes ! To some people, it might seem far from the city, but that’s not the case at all, the road is very pleasant to walk along, and the shared bajajis/tuktuk are always there; you don’t have to wait and the taxis from apps are not expensive at all. Aside from climbing Kilimanjaro and other activities, this place can serve as an artist’s retreat for writing, drawing or simply for reflection. I’m really happy and proud to be the first North African and Tunisian to have stayed at this place. P.S. : The water from the shower is so hot it warms your soul
