The stay was amazing: the hosts were friendly and helpful, the Spanish was useful but we managed most of the activity details with just a little extra effort. The food was great, there’s a hot shower and private eco‑toilets, and they supply all‑day electricity via solar panels and batteries, which is nice. Nights can get cold, but the hosts provide hot water bottles and plenty of blankets. It was a truly calming part of our Peru trip.

Everything! Enrique and his family welcomed us, the island’s location is incredible, the room and bedding were comfortable, the duvets and blankets were soft and warm, the activities were great, and the meals were delicious. It’s more than accommodation; it’s an experience. The only caveat is the island’s remote location: it runs on solar power, so there’s no electrical outlet in the rooms, the shower flow is low (though the water is hot), and the toilets are composting.

I was blown away by Enrique’s family home; it felt like a second home, with local crafts and the lake reserve adding a fascinating touch. The place is a quiet sanctuary to share and unwind, far from crowds, and the meals were delicious—thanks again!

The island is completely isolated from tourist spots, our room was spotless and offered an amazing view of the lake. The hosts were very friendly and showed us a lot about the islands and traditional crafts. We were picked up by boat and taken to the island. Highly recommended.

The family was super friendly and they even provided a warm water bottle in the evenings. The only downside was that there was no outlet in the room.
