The single room was priced reasonably, but the décor felt a little dated and the thin walls let my neighbor’s noise through.

The staff were kind and handled everything politely; the train noise was a minor irritation, but otherwise it was quiet and I could relax, although the unit bath turned out to be surprisingly small.

“少し残念”

This hotel has a certain charm to it, with its rich history and elegant atmosphere. You can really feel like you're stepping back in time when you walk through the doors. However, it's hard not to get the impression that they're just going through the motions, providing a basic service without much enthusiasm. It's a bit of a mixed bag, but the old-world charm is definitely worth experiencing.

“素泊まりなら快適”

I was really hoping to get a room with a view of the express trains, which is what I'd heard about from other guests. Luckily, our room had a window that looked out onto the tracks, and the kids were over the moon. The room itself was great, and we appreciated the map of local restaurants, coin laundry, and supermarkets that was provided. Check-out was a breeze, too - just drop the key at reception and you're good to go.
