The beds were reasonably good and the room was tidy, but the noise and cigarette smoke from the adjacent balcony could be smelled in our room. The blackout curtains were half as narrow as they should be. There was no coffee and no breakfast.

The self‑check‑in worked well. It’s ideally located in a side valley; hikers and cyclists should note that it’s still a few kilometres up the hill from the main town of Bacharach, and that dining and shopping are either limited or absent, so you’ll have to return to Bacharach. The neighbouring establishment (not part of the hotel) looked very grimy, with staff smoking on the street all the time—so we chose not to eat there. For breakfast, €15 per person was on the high side given the offering; everything was plentiful but ultimately average quality, feeling like a discount store.
