“サマルカンドは良い街だけどこの宿はがっかり”
The courtyard isn’t exactly as shown in photos but has a nice atmosphere, and being about five minutes from Registan Square is convenient. I cannot recommend this place at all; it’s not cheap (similar‑ranked hotels often cost about half as much) and the bathroom emitted a foul, drain‑like smell. The plumbing was rusty, water pressure weak, and although the fixtures are old, the cleanliness was questionable—drains were clogged with hair, the toothbrush cup was discolored, and there were hairs on the bed. Breakfast fruit was edible (Uzbek hotels usually have good fruit), but everything else felt unhygienic; the sweet bread tasted stale, ants swarmed the dining area, and used plates were left out for ages, raising serious hygiene concerns. There was a power outage once, construction nearby, and constant morning car horns. I’ve written a lot of complaints, and while I try to be tolerant of budget accommodations, this stay left me very disappointed.
