Lovely hosts, laundry, breakfast, tour booking were all great, great location close to the market, nice big, clean rooms :).

Antonia and Dante are wonderful people and the owners of this hostal. It’s clean and the rooms are huge. They’re sweet and fun to talk with, and they love the Andes and all the hikers who pass through. I miss them. We stayed thinking we’d do the 4‑day Santa Cruz trek but ran out of time. I’d stay in the area for 2 weeks to acclimate and hike. We left our bags with the hostal while we hiked.

I stayed for 6 nights while getting ready for the Cordillera Huayhuash trek and then returned for 3 more nights because it was so good! They upgraded me for free from a single budget room to a deluxe queen‑sized bed. The room was cleaned every second day, they helped me book day hikes throughout my stay, and breakfast was delivered quickly at the times I requested. Even though the hosts didn’t speak English and I didn’t speak Spanish, I still felt at home. They held my bag while I went on the trek, even though I wasn’t sure if I’d stay in the hostal again when I returned. Laundry was taken for 5 soles a kilo, which is the standard competitive rate, and they offered same‑day service. On the day I left for the airport, the hostess personally took me to the collectivo spot, which I would never have found on my own because it’s tucked away by the river. I can’t express how much I enjoyed my time here; the host and hostess made my stay in Huaraz stand out. The hostal felt like a home away from home, especially after the trek. If you’re worried about hot water, they have plenty, and the rooms are exceptionally clean and quiet. A few rooms at the front of the building were noisier, but the two rooms I stayed in were very quiet at night. The location is right in the middle of the local markets, which I loved, and it’s about a 5‑10 minute walk from any of the main restaurants.

The interior facilities and service are very good, but the surroundings of the hotel are ugly; it’s like an informal market and there’s a bad odor coming from the street drain.
