The owner was quick to let us check in and attentive upon arrival, but the photos don’t match reality—this is an old house that was simply converted into an Airbnb, the electrical wiring is old so the bedroom light goes out while bathing, and the owner blamed the city’s small size; I’ve never experienced that in Paraty, so it must be a house‑specific issue. I also found two cockroaches in my room while sleeping—terrifying.

The place was close to almost everything and the area was quiet, but it was hard to find, the room was very small, the window wouldn’t open properly, there was never anyone at the front desk to help or explain anything, and sometimes the staff didn’t understand the concept of a shared kitchen and left it dirty.
