The location is superb, right in the heart of one of the city’s sassi; the stone‑built room was an out‑of‑time stay that we loved.
“Atmosfera magica!”
The room had a magical atmosphere and the spot was ideal for a peaceful visit to Matera.
The structure is spotless and very beautiful, nothing else.

We loved the superb spot in the Sassi and the troglodyte room was a must‑see, especially with breakfast delivered to the room so we could relax at our own pace on the little terrace out front. The room and bathroom were spacious, and the two front‑desk staff gave us plenty of tips on walks, sights and restaurants – everything was great. The only drawback, as the hotel warned, is that the historic area is full of stairs, so traveling light is advisable; a large suitcase is cumbersome.
