Owner Fiona is warm, friendly, and welcoming. The Seaview and sunset make the place special, and Charleston’s beach is a stunning spot to visit.

The place was about what we expected, more like a motel than a lodge, but Fiona was great and the view was nice.

We found a cozy stopover for the NZ winter; Fiona welcomed us warmly and the room was clean and had everything we needed. It was windy and cold, so we stayed inside, played Jenga, and watched Jurassic Park—a snug night indeed. We were thankful to do some laundry before heading next door to the glow‑worm tours.
