We love the hotel’s location and it’s our second trip back. The building is beautiful and within walking distance of many South End restaurants; the lobby is gorgeous and the coffee machine is fantastic. The only thing that bothered me before this weekend was parking—it’s tricky. The hotel does its best, and there’s a second parking garage nearby for when the main lot is full, but my husband and I had to use it one night and it was extremely hard to get a refund from the front desk. The experience this weekend was the complete opposite of our stay three weeks earlier. The rates were double what we paid before, but we were willing to pay more for the location and past positives. We booked a King room with balcony and were assigned room 311. The moment we opened the door, the cigarette and cigar smell was unbearable. We went back to the front desk and were moved to room 411. That room smelled like cologne and something else so strong it burned my eyes and nose. My husband said it was probably a cleaner, but we left for an event and didn’t return until 11 pm, only to find the bed soaked in a strong cologne. The pillows and comforter smelled like body odor, sweat, and men’s cologne, so strong I couldn’t sleep. Housekeeping hadn’t changed the bedding between guests. The next morning I spoke to the front desk, they told housekeeping to change it, but the girl was not apologetic and seemed irritated. The second night was better with clean bedding, proving the first night was due to cutting corners. I also saw that the original smoke‑filled room was still occupied by another guest and several balcony rooms had people smoking on them. If you’re sensitive to smoke, avoid these rooms. I hope management steps up because the hotel is nice but poorly maintained.

I stumbled upon a true gem – the most stunning Holiday Inn Expresss I've ever seen, and I was blown away from check‑in to check‑out by how luxurious the place feels. The spot was perfect, within walking distance of restaurants and shops, and I’ll definitely return!

The location is great, the building is new, modern, and clean, and the staff were very pleasant. Parking was convenient. Nothing else to add.
