The location is convenient. We stayed here again because the price matched our expectations, but this time it was “funny” in a bad way. I sat in my room during the day, heard someone running on the ceiling with claws, and I panicked because I feared rats. At first I didn’t understand, it felt terribly scary, like a rat was running above my head, which is common in many Thai hotels. Then I realized it was a rat because it started squeaking unpleasantly. I was terrified, especially with a small child. I complained to staff, hoping they would fix it before it caused more trouble. Instead, a worker came with a cigarette, opened the vent over the sink, and poured poison into it—apparently to kill the rat. The cleaner even said the “baby” was running upstairs. Two days later we were moved to another room because I couldn’t sleep one night due to the squeak and fear. The staff never apologized; they seemed indifferent. I understand it’s a 2‑star place in Asia, but such indifference toward guests is unacceptable, even for a hostel. I hope my review helps.
