The hotel was very close to the Luke East gate, which made it quick to access the lackland base, and the front desk lady was nice. The room included a table with a chair, a standing mirror, a lounge chair with a coffee table, a microwave, TV, a mini fridge, an ironing board, and an ironing machine. However, the building looked run down, the room had a slight mildew smell, there was no overhead lighting, and the only lights were two side‑table lamps and a window. I received the room dirty; the sink had toothpaste, soap marks, a booger, and a hair. The shower was nasty, and I would only shower with flip‑flops to avoid touching the floor. Getting hot water was difficult—I had to fiddle with the handle to find the hot water in the blue area of the temperature marking. The TV was an older model that only allowed cable, so no streaming services (not a big deal but worth noting). The bedsheets were very thin, so if I kept the A/C below 80 I would freeze at night. My door had an extra lock that required pressing my body in a certain way to lock twice. The area was really bad; I’m not sure if it’s normal to have room service clean your room here, but no one came to do so. It felt sketchy to walk out alone, especially as a young solo female traveler, so I stayed in the hotel or on the base a lot to avoid any sketchy people around the area.

I was really, really happy that the swimming pool was open and clean. I had a good time and would go back again. There was nothing I didn’t like; everything was good.
