Very clean, comfortable, and quiet! While I was in Miei for three days, they even let me leave my luggage there, so I’ll consider staying again when I visit Sapporo next time.

From the moment we arrived, the tone was off; there was no lobby space to unload the car. The concierge directed me to the disabled parking spot, which was already occupied by a parking cone, and didn’t try to move it. I watched as I moved the cone. Imagine if I were actually disabled. Then the concierge had the nerve to say parking was only five minutes. This lack of service carried through the whole stay – basic questions were met with blank stares and no smile. It made me appreciate the other hotel staff in Japan, where I was always welcomed and could communicate even with a possible language barrier. Here the staff were generally fluent but simply uninterested.

The facility itself was new and clean but nothing special; the sauna was exactly as expected and very good. In the quiet sauna area, only in the morning, a woman’s chatter from outside could be heard for more than 40 minutes, which was a bit unsettling. I’m not sure if it was from the hotel or outside.

The miso ramen was delicious. The parking could be a bit larger.
