The terrace was big and the panorama beautiful, but the room was too small; there was barely enough space at the end of the bed to get into the bathroom.

“Our stay at Gaston Hotel Rivabella”

Excellent location and delightful, helpful staff, especially at the reception desk. The breakfast was very good, with hot and cold food served in an attractive restaurant. We were very disappointed to learn that the swimming pool was closed for the season. We had paid for the hotel well in advance on a non‑cancellation basis, so we could not cancel and switch to another hotel with an open pool. As a sort of consolation, the hotel did give us a free room upgrade, which we appreciated. The beach was amazing and close to the hotel.

The pool was included, but when we requested to use it they told us it was closed since the end of August. A reception staff member was unhelpful.

The cleanliness of the premises was excellent, but the finishes were not up to a 4‑star hotel standard. The minibar was empty, had no shelves, and cooled little even with the thermostat at maximum. The bathroom door in the room didn’t close from the outside, so it kept sliding open and left the room in constant communication with the hallway; the problem was reported to reception and not resolved. The pool was closed from 1 September. The breakfast room had a few chairs with 10 cm holes in the seats.
