“Ruma Kaca was a real surprise!”
Henry drove us from the pier, and after a brief walk we arrived at Ruma Kaca. The garden is lovely and well tended, and the colonial house entrance feels like a charming dollhouse with photos of Tiolina’s father and grandfather. Our room was roomy, had a fan that worked fine, and the bed was very comfortable—wider than it was long! We slept great. We rented a scooter for two days to see a bit of the island, but it would have been nice to have porridge or cereals for breakfast. Tiolina, her son Rafael, and the whole staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The only downside is that Ruma Kaca is far from everything and has no direct lake access, a problem we noticed at most other spots on our trip.
“Rustgevende homestay”
The cozy spot, the atmosphere, and the staff made a warm bath where we could relax after many travels, and the food cooked by the staff was very tasty. The only minor issue is that the shower is a bit too close to the toilet.
“Tohle je jedno z nejhezčích ubytování, jaké jsem na Sumatře zažil. Koupelna je dobře vybavená, postele jsou vysoké, ale”
Čistota, jinde na Sumatře jsou běžně odpadky všude kolem. Tady je vždy krásně uklizeno. Hostitelé jsou skvělí, máte svoje soukromí, ale když potřebujete, jsou vám k dispozici. Nemůžu nic vytknout
“Ci siamo sentiti a casa”
The place is historic, the garden and museum are lovely, and it feels like a lived-in, non‑touristy spot. Nothing to complain about.
Tiolina, her son, and the staff are wonderful! If you want a truly special stay in a unique place full of history with lovely people, don’t hesitate to book.
